New Here

When you come to Westminster you can look forward to warm and hospitable people ready to welcome you to our service. There is a Welcome Desk and Welcome Lounge in the foyer where you can get any information you need, learn where to take your children, or how to find a Connection Class.

As part of our worship service we:

  • Confess our sin together,

  • Revel in the assurance of God’s pardon,

  • Sing our praises to him,

  • Give him our tithes and offerings,

  • Gather around the Word of God and

  • Often participate in the celebration of the Lord’s Supper and the sacrament of Baptism.

We are a very eclectic group, and the way in which we express our worship demonstrates that. While some people ‘enjoy’ worship in different ways than others, our primary concern is that God himself enjoys our genuine worship!

Service Times

Our Sunday mornings look a little different in July and August: Nursery and Preschool care is available at both services, but Elementary Large Groups are only offered at 9:00 and there is no children's church. Adult Connection Classes are also on hiatus until September.

We offer two identical worship services every Sunday from September through June:

  • 9:00 a.m. -- During this hour we also offer our Adult & Youth Connection Classes, Nursery Care, and Preschool & Elementary Small Groups

  • 10:30 a.m. -- During this hour we also offer our Adult Connection Classes, Nursery Care, Preschool Care, Access Ministry and Elementary Children's Church (there is no Children’s Church on the second Sunday of each month as we observe Communion)

We are located on Route 10 near King's Fork Road in Suffolk. Come visit on a Sunday morning and contact us with any questions.

What to Expect

As part of our worship service we participate in a four-part movement: The Gathering, The Word, The Table, and The Sending. In the Gathering, we respond to God’s invitation to worship him corporately. He desires our praise and fellowship. In The Word, we are addressed by God through the scriptures both sung and spoken. It is a dialogue in which God speaks and we respond. In The Table, we encounter God through the sacrament of bread and wine. We celebrate communion the second Sunday of each month. In the Sending, we are blessed by the Lord and sent out into the world to work for his kingdom.

We offer nursery, preschool and elementary care for children ages birth-5th grade. Our children’s ministry is staffed by volunteers and workers who have all been through background checks, training, and who have a wonderful heart for children.

We offer a youth ministry for participants from 6-12th grade. From weekly meetings on Sunday evenings to weekend retreats and a variety of special events, our Youth Ministry is built to come alongside parents as they help children transition into adults who love Jesus.

Being part of the body of Christ is of vital importance to your Christian walk, it is our goal to help everyone feel connected and close to their brothers and sisters in Christ at Westminster. From small groups to connection classes Sunday mornings, Westminster works to connect people with biblical truths and one another.

Hope for Suffolk, our local outreach to Suffolk residents gives us the opportunity to assist our neighbors through a Community Garden as well as through financial and other assistance. We are thrilled to work with various mission partners in the Suffolk area and the Hampton Roads region. We also have over 30 mission partners around the world that we work with to support church plants and humanitarian projects.
