Ron & Peg Smith

Caribbean

Mission to the World

Church Planting

Ron grew up in a military family, living all over the United States and Europe. Peg was born and raised in the Washington, DC area. They met at a home Bible study when Ron's career in broadcasting took him to Washington in 1981. Peg was teaching and pursuing her master's in early childhood education.

While in South America in 1990 to adopt their son, the Lord opened their hearts to ministry overseas. Ron received an M.Div. in missions from Reformed Theopogical Seminary in 1995, and they joined the MTW church-planting team in Guayaquil, Ecuador in 1996.

The Smiths and the MTW team in Guayaquil are working to stimulate a church-planting movement that will bring the Reformed faith to Ecuador. Having planted and pastored the Iglesia Reformada Presbiteriana San Agustin, Ron is now involved in training and mentoring national church planters. Peg will continue her ministry to women, and together the Smiths will minister to couples and children.

They have two children, Benjamin and Allison.
