Ministry

The start of the 2010 fall semester marked the beginning of RUF at Christopher Newport University.  RUF seeks to minister to CNU students by giving a heart-felt witness to the person and work of Jesus Christ.  Our purpose is to cultivate mature relationships among students that manifest themselves in a love for others, a heart for service, and a deep intimacy with the Living God.  We hope to see the Kingdom of God advance beyond the CNU campus by being a loving witness and a helping neighbor for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We long to see hearts changed by the Gospel of grace and to see students live lives of significance during and after college.  We invite you to be a part of God's work in, with, and through the ministry of RUF at CNU.

Born in Charleston but raised in sunny Greenwood, SC, Dave developed a keen ability to type in third person.  Dave received his undergrad degree from Presbyterian College  in Clinton, SC (home of the mighty Blue Hose).  After graduating from PC in 2003, Dave married his Camp Greystone sweetheart Rebecca (an RUF alum of Ole Miss) in October.  In May of 2010, Dave graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte and was called by the James River Presbytery to be the full-time RUF campus minister at CNU.  Dave and Rebecca have a strapping 3 year old son named Stokes and a new little girl named Ellie.
