We are a community called to image Jesus Christ in his renewing of all things.

In Memoriam

Fran Chorey on her 84th birthday The funding for the redesign of this website was provided by a generous gift from the Frances L. Chorey Memorial Fund.

Frances L. Chorey, wife of T. Vincent Chorey Sr., was born on May 1, 1918 in Lexington, Virginia. She was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother and a devoted Christian friend to all who knew her. Her entire life was a living testimony to her deep faith in Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior.

She was a founding member of what is now Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church, which had its beginning with a couple dozen people in a local back yard in May, 1969. She was responsible for naming the church, “Westminster."

Fran was instrumental in bringing the Stonecroft Christian Women’s Club to Suffolk in 1985, and her home served as headquarters for many years. Fran’s whole purpose in life was to honor and glorify God, and she withheld nothing.

Fran was received into her Heavenly Father’s hands on October 14, 2009. The Frances L. Chorey Memorial Fund was established to help preserve her memory by supporting specific ventures that promote the Kingdom of God in Suffolk.

Westminster Church is thankful for the generosity of the Frances L. Chorey Memorial Fund for making the redesign of this website possible.
