"The church is central to God's plan of salvation. God saves people into a new community, which is the vanguard of a new humanity. To be called to Christ is to throw in one's lot with his people." Greg Ogden, Transforming Discipleship People To ContactWill Lee, Director of Discipleship Ministries |
Westminster CommunitiesOur Communities are the heart of connectedness at Westminster. The adults in the Communities meet for teaching and fellowship while their children, if they have any, are in groups of their own. While Communities are based on a similar family life stage or a common interest, you can attend any Community that is of interest to you. Find where you belong. Here are our current groups:
We hope that you'll join one of our communities and build lasting relationships as you grow in Christ in community. Small GroupsWhen you're ready to connect, grow and serve on a deeper level, you're ready for a Westminster Small Group. These groups flow naturally out of the relationships built in our Communities, and are primarily small, single-gender groups of about 3-6 people. These are safe places where we can open up with one another and be vulnerable together, learning to live the gospel in our lives in very practical and joyful ways. If you'd like to be a part of a small group, talk with your Community leader. ClassesWe think learning God's word and how to live in God's world are very important. So we provide many classes to help you grow. We've listed just of few titles below to give you an idea of the kind of classes available at Westminster. In the fall, winter and spring quarters our Congregational Communities study a wide variety of topics. Plus we offer some of these classes at various other times throughout the year. Here are some of the classes we offer:
SeniorsThe Timothy Ministry exists to get to know the seniors at Westminster better and assist with their special needs. This ministry is based on 1 Timothy 5 and is focused on men and women in our church who are at least 65 years old and have need of support or assistance due to a deceased or extremely ill spouse. Men's and Women's MinistriesWhether you're looking for a men's prayer breakfast, mothers' groups, or just a gender-specific Bible study, we have men's and women's ministries that allow you the opportunity to meet, connect with and grow with other men and women in the church. Military FamiliesMany of our families are involved in the military, and we have special groups to help you connect with one another. From Officer's Christian Fellowship groups to Military Wives groups we want to help you develop meaningful relationships as long as you are in the area. SinglesOur young singles meet for Bible study, prayer, fellowship and sometimes volleyball. Join them on Sunday mornings and throughout the week. |
