Coalition Against Poverty in Suffolk

CAPS is currently recruiting an Administrator/Bookkeeper as a paid staff position for approximately 15 hours/week. More details can be found on their website, along with the application.

CAPS is also always looking for handymen who can help our neighbors with repair needs. If you have any furniture or household goods that you can donate as well please feel free to contact the office! We often try to assist individuals who were experiencing homelessness and have recently secured housing but need furnishings to make it a home!

There have been 3 families in the past 2 weeks who have lost everything they owned in house fires. CAPS is working to provide temporary housing and provisions for these families while they work to recover from this loss. Please contact the CAPS office if you're able to contribute to these families in any way.

Night Stay Program

Each winter we join with other churches in Suffolk to provide shelter for our neighbors experiencing homelessness. It takes a lot of volunteers to assist with transportation, provide meals, and stay with our guests. Westminster will host again in the 2018-2019 winter, please check back to see how you can serve.
