3-29-2018 Tenebrae Services

Upcoming Events

'Tenebrae' is Latin for shadows. These services are designed to recreate the betrayal, abandonment, and agony of the events leading up to Resurrection Sunday. We believe they will be very moving services for all of us as we participate in the meal and hear the story of the Last Supper and the events which followed Jesus through Gethsemane to the cross.

This service is comprised of a shared meal at tables in the Sanctuary followed by readings and songs as candles are slowly extinguished, ending the night in near total darkness. There is a lack of completion at the end of the night because the story isn't over until Easter morning.

Nursery will be available at 6:00p.m. for children ages 0-8 by reservation. We ask that you feed the children who will be in childcare before coming to church that evening. If your child eats the meal in the sanctuary, they will be expected to stay for the program. Our Access (Special Needs) Ministry will have childcare available for the Thursday service.

Registration is closed for these events, we are at capacity both nights. If you'd like to be added to a waiting list, cancel your reservation to make room for others, or make adjustments to your reservation you may call the office.
